We absolutely adore the Hide-and-Seek pattern because it highlights fabric in such an elegant way. Meagan previously shared a clever sew-and-slash method to create a faux chenille yoke. This time around, she’s taken the yoke to another level—prepare yourself for something truly special! Make sure to check out her tutorial to learn this innovative fabric technique. Here she is to walk us through her adorable baby-sized tunic project.

Pattern used: Hide-and-Seek Tunic (size 6-12 months)
Fabric used: Kona Quilting Cotton
Did the fabric work well?
Absolutely! It was the ideal choice for this pattern. The marbled fabric on the yoke served as the perfect accent—just a touch of uniqueness that made the piece stand out. A little marbled fabric goes a long way!
How did the sewing go?
Everything went smoothly! The instructions were incredibly clear and easy to follow. I’d highly recommend this pattern to anyone—it’s professional-looking and rewarding to make. I encountered zero issues during construction.
How did the fabric technique go?
The technique I used is called marbling. It was such a blast! While there’s some prep involved, I think the end result is totally worth it. Once you get the hang of swirling the paint, you’ll be hooked. It’s almost meditative!
What was the best part?
For me, the highlight was creating completely unique patterns every single time. You can’t replicate the exact design twice, which makes each piece feel truly personal. Whether you stick to classic marble designs or experiment with your own styles, the possibilities are endless. It was such a fulfilling project.
Since finishing this project, I’ve been itching to try marbling again. Maybe next time I’ll play around with different colors or even apply the technique to other items like scarves or tote bags. If you’re looking for a creative outlet that’s both fun and practical, definitely give marbling a shot. Let me know how it turns out—I’d love to see your creations!
