In the Textile City Industrial Park established in Puebla, Mexico, and in the Tlaxcala region, the pace of establishment of new companies is slowing, mainly due to the inability to obtain land.
At present, there are about 300 textile units in this textile city industrial park, of which 15% are foreign investment or other Mexican state investment. In total, 25,000 jobs were born.
One expert said that these textile units urgently need to upgrade their technology and processing in order to be more competitive.
He said that although the labor force in Central America is cheap, the entire textile production process cannot be obtained because investment has not flowed into the region. The possibility that Mexican investors have invested in the region to bridge the gap in the textile value chain exists, but the amount of these investments is still insufficient.
