Analysis of the role of insulating glass

[China Glass Network] It’s going to be hotter in the summer, and the advantages of light transmission at home will become a disadvantage. Therefore, how to block the invasion of sunlight outside, heat insulation is very important, we talked about above. How to apply film insulation, let's take a look at the small pieces of the decoration net to see which insulation glass to prevent radiation and ultraviolet rays!

What are the front and insulated glass?

Insulating glass has a special ability to absorb, transmit and reflect light and heat. It can provide significant energy-saving effects by using exterior windows and glass curtain walls of buildings. Commonly used insulating glass is heat absorbing glass, coated glass and insulating glass.

Second, how does the heat absorbing glass work?

The endothermic glass enhances the absorption of light by adding some metal ions or certain substances to the glass to give the glass some color. The sunshade coefficient of the heat absorbing glass is lower than that of the transparent glass, and the shading principle is to weaken the air into the room by absorbing solar energy.

Disadvantages: The endothermic glass will block part of the solar radiant heat energy in summer or winter, so it can be used in the southern area where heat is dominant, and not in the north. The heat absorbing glass is actually the absorption of radiation, and the heat absorbed by the glass will still be transmitted indoors and outdoors. The endothermic glass has no selectivity to the spectrum, which reduces the transmission of sunlight and hinders the projection of visible light, which will affect the daylighting.

Third, how does the coated glass work?

Coated glass is one or more layers of metal, alloy or metal compound coated on the surface of the glass to alter the properties of the glass. According to different characteristics, it can be divided into heat reflective glass and low radiation glass.

1, heat reflecting glass

The heat-reflecting glass is coated with a metal film and some interference layers on the surface, so that the glass product can reflect more solar radiation to achieve the sunshade effect and has a rich color. Heat-reflecting glass has a strong reflection on visible light and long-wave radiation, and its role is to limit the penetration of solar radiation into the room.

Disadvantages: The heat-reflecting glass is almost the same as the transparent glass, so it is not suitable for cold areas where the temperature difference is large indoors. However, in hot areas with strong light, the heat insulation effect is very good. Reflecting glass reflects the solar radiant heat energy, but also limits the entry of visible light, which will cause adverse effects on indoor lighting. In addition, too high reflectivity will lead to light pollution, too low to achieve energy savings.

2, low-emission (Low-E) glass

A low-emission (Low-E) coating is formed on the surface of the glass by vacuum deposition. The effect of the Low-E coating is firstly to reflect far-infrared radiation, effectively reducing the heat transfer coefficient of the glass; secondly, to reflect the heat radiation in the sun, to selectively reduce the shading coefficient; at the same time, the low-emissivity glass is compared with the heat-reflecting glass. It does not limit the penetration of visible light too much.

Disadvantages: Due to the poor strength of the film layer, it is generally used as an insulating glass and not used alone.

Fourth, the introduction of insulating glass

The insulating glass is composed of two or more layers of flat glass, and is surrounded by a high-air-tight adhesive, and is filled with a dry gas. The dry, non-convective gas blocks the heat transfer path, thereby limiting the temperature differential heat transfer of the glass and effectively reducing the heat transfer coefficient of the glass. The inside is generally filled with an inert gas to further reduce the heat transfer coefficient.

Disadvantages: The greater the improvement of the insulating glass is its thermal conductivity, not its thermal insulation properties. In the summer in the south, the heat entering the room through the glass is mainly radiant heat, while the heat of indoor and outdoor temperature difference only accounts for a small part.

Especially in the summer evening, the good insulation performance of the insulating glass makes it difficult for the heat in the room to be emitted, which is disadvantageous for energy saving. I believe that everyone will have more or less understanding of the above content, I hope this article can help you.
