The plagioclase belongs to the general name of the feldspar mineral of the NaAlSi3O8(Ab)-CaAl2Si2O8(An) genus series. It is divided into six mineral species: albite (An0-10Ab100-90) and aragonite (An10- 30Ab90-70), medium feldspar (An30-50Ab70-50), labradorite (An50-70Ab50-30), feldspar (An70-90Ab30-10) and anorthite (An90-100Ab10-0). The two groups of cleavage (a complete set, a set of medium) intersected at 86 ° 24', hence the name plagioclase. Mohs hardness 6-6.5, specific gravity 2.6-2.76.
