The North and South Jade Carving Schools Gathered in Panjiayuan

Panjiayuan’s 8th Folk Collection of Jade Finesse Exhibition opened on the morning of August 24th. Since ancient times, jade carvings have been divided into “Nam Yuzu” and “Bei Yu Zuo”, which reflect different styles of tanning. This time, the fine collections of jade carving masters of various folk jade collection exhibitions were brought together to showcase the masters of jade sculptures from the north and the south. The person in charge of Panjiayuan introduced to reporters that there were two highlights in this collection of folk jade collections. One is that the materials are good, and more than 80% is the fine quality of Hetian jade seeds. The second is a good craftsmanship that brings together the works of domestic first-line masters. The jade carving masters created a unique style of different jade carving schools through careful creation on the same jade material. “Haipai Jade Carving” is the main lineup of this exhibition. The main artists of the Shanghai Sea show are Ni Weibin, Wu Desheng, Liu Zhongrong, Yan Yiwei, Yu Xin, Yi Shaoyong and others. Haipai jade carving is based on fully absorbing the carving techniques of Suzhou and Yangzhou, and constantly innovating, inheriting the essence of the Ming and Qing dynasty palace jade carvings, and blending the Yang Bang and Su Bang fresh and elegant styles. "Jingpai jade carving" is aggressive and dominating. The characteristics of the royal legacy are obvious. The exhibitors included Su Ran’s “Fei Jing Men Farewell”, “Double Saints” and “Cheng Zhu in the Chest” as representatives, fully embodying the thick, calm and elegant atmosphere of the Beijing school. The representative of the "Suzhou Jade Carving" Jiang Xi's "Long Feng card", full of ancient rhyme, ancient but not ancient mud, as well as "Su sent jade master" Yu boat as the domestic level of the highest level of jade jade carving process representative. He produced a "blue and white can" shape, full of enthusiasm, there is a fresh air. The “Yangzhou Jade Carving” works “Rejoice Maitreya”, which is most similar to “Suzhou Jade Carving”, is elegant and exquisite. It is a work of Wang Dehai that is known as the “mountain son carving”.

In addition to the exhibition, the Panjiayuan Folk Collection Exhibition will produce an exhibition catalogue every year. The catalogue published this year, “Jade in the Jade - Collection of Fine Art from the Qing Dynasty to Contemporary Jade Collection” includes exhibition exhibits and research articles. There is an overview of Qing Dynasty Jade Articles written by Zhang Guangwen of the Palace Museum, and there are also many researches and analyses done on the Beijing School, Shanghai School, Suzhou, Yangzhou and the Western Regions jade carvings.

The book's editor-in-chief, Yu Yuming, deputy director of the Beijing Yu Xueyu Cultural Research Center, will give a lecture on Hetian Yu’s knowledge in the exhibition hall on the morning of September 1st. The theme of this book will focus on the research results of the book and tell about the evolution and development of the Hetian jade carving school. This exhibition will continue until September 1.
